My Office
Covington wet belt sander. Uses 3" x 41.5" belts from 36 to 600 grit. Belts change quick & easy.
Lortone® 14" Panther LS1400 rock saw. It is behind this bench and not on it.
Leather polishing pad. I made this machine. Motor mounted under the bench. turns about 200 RPMs. The pink color is caused by cerium oxide used to polish the rock.
10" felt polishing wheel. It is used with a mix of water and cerium oxide.
Dry sander. 3450 RPM electric pump motor drives a 7" rubber sanding disc backing pad. The pump motor is mounted to a motorized height adjustment stand. Raise or lower the motor for comfort. The stand was a gift. I made the motor/mount assembly.
10" Covington Gem Lab. 1 expanding drum with a Raytech® 340 grit True Circle diamond band (I change this to a 3300 grit band for pre-finish). 120 Grit Diamond grinding wheel and a Polydisc sanding pad on the side.
